Ken Yip

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Ken Yip founded EXIST in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2014 around a systems-level theory of identity persistence. His core argument was that a static copy of neural anatomy could never be sufficient to preserve a person. A viable continuity system would need to reproduce validated relationships among memory, self-model, preference, affect, learned strategy, and neural dynamics over time.

Under Yip's direction, EXIST moved from computational modeling into integrated acquisition and validation research. He led the relocation of primary research operations to Bellevue in 2019 and later directed the transfer of the global headquarters to New York in late 2023.

Yip remains responsible for long-term strategy, Continuity Architecture, and the boundary between internal research capability and external deployment.
