Dr. Lena Hoffmann leads research on autobiographical memory, semantic self-model, affective stability, preference persistence, and cognitive drift.

She joined EXIST in 2019 and helped develop the validation dimensions later incorporated into the Identity Continuity Index.

Her group studies how a reconstructed state can remain recognizably itself while still allowing the change expected of any living cognitive system.
